Africazine:
South Africa is calling for citizen participation in wildlife research.
The South African Otter Spotters are seeking public assistance to gather data on otter distribution across the country. They invite individuals to share both old and new sightings through their web app.
Join the Otter Spotters Initiative in South Africa
The initiative aims to enhance understanding of otter populations in South Africa. By sharing sightings, citizens can contribute valuable data for a research project at the Mammal Research Institute of the University of Pretoria. This collaborative effort highlights the importance of community involvement in wildlife conservation.
How to Participate in Otter Research
To report sightings, participants can use the web app available at https://otter-spotters.web.app/. The Otter Spotters also encourage sharing the initiative’s poster to raise awareness and engage more people in this important research.
