The updated D23 Navara is set to make its South African debut soon, showcasing significant changes and new features.

Nissan South Africa has confirmed that the facelifted D23 Navara will premiere on 20 November. The new model will be imported from Thailand and will feature a streamlined lineup of three variants, retaining the 140kW/450Nm 2.5-litre YD25DDTI turbodiesel engine.

New Features of the D23 Navara Unveiled

The D23 Navara will be available in three trim levels: SE Plus, LE Plus, and Pro-4X. Notably, previous variants such as the XE, SE, and Pro-2X have been discontinued. The model will come equipped with a seven-speed automatic gearbox and a double cab bodystyle, while the six-speed manual and single cab options have been removed.

Visual updates include a redesigned front-end with a new grille, bumper, and restyled bonnet. The latest spy images suggest a more aggressive look, with flared wheel arches and a new loadbox design. The light clusters will feature segmented graphics in an E-shape, marking a departure from the previous model’s design.

Context of the D23 Navara Launch

This launch comes after Nissan ceased local production of the Navara due to the acquisition of its Rosslyn plant by Chery. The D23 Navara will be positioned as a key player in the South African market, with enhancements aimed at appealing to local consumers. The upgraded interior will be available on the mid-spec LE Plus and flagship Pro-4X variants, while the SE Plus will retain the existing layout.
