Airports Company South Africa is set for a leadership change as Siphamandla Mthethwa prepares to take the helm.
Mthethwa will assume the role of chief executive officer and executive director in November 2026, succeeding Charles Shilowa, who has been serving in an interim capacity. Mthethwa previously held the position of chief financial officer at ACSA from 2020 to 2023, where he managed significant financial initiatives.

Mthethwa brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having overseen a R6 billion funding programme and facilitated a R1.8 billion bond issue without a government guarantee during his previous tenure. His leadership was pivotal during the COVID-19 pandemic as he implemented a financial recovery strategy for ACSA.
His background includes executive roles at other state-owned enterprises, such as the Central Energy Fund and African Exploration, Mining and Finance Corporation. This diverse experience positions him well to lead ACSA through its upcoming challenges.
