Internet Technologies Angola is revolutionizing connectivity for remote industrial operations with its new satellite solution.
At the Angola Oil & Gas 2026 conference, the company unveiled a low-Earth orbit satellite network designed to provide fast and reliable communications in areas lacking terrestrial infrastructure. This innovative system promises lower latency and enhanced connectivity for critical operations in the oil and gas sector.
Low-Earth Orbit Satellite Solution Unveiled
Internet Technologies Angola showcased its cutting-edge connectivity solution during the conference held on 9-10 September. The low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite network is positioned approximately 1,000 kilometers above the Earth, significantly reducing latency compared to traditional geostationary satellites. This makes it particularly suitable for time-sensitive operations in industries such as oil and gas.
The versatility of the deployed system allows it to function as a primary link, a backup, or as part of a hybrid network that combines satellite and terrestrial elements. It can connect isolated drilling rigs and storage facilities while enabling real-time telemetry, voice, and data exchange among field teams and command centers.
Expanding Digital Services Across Africa
The technology’s applications extend beyond oil and gas, reaching sectors like mining, agriculture, and transport, where uninterrupted digital access is crucial. Internet Technologies Angola, a subsidiary of the Pan-African telecommunications provider Paratus Group, has a strong presence in the Angolan market, recently opening its second data center, the largest in the country.
This expansion solidifies the company’s leadership in ICT services and reflects its commitment to enhancing digital connectivity throughout Africa. Paratus Group operates in 16 Sub-Equatorial African nations and continues to invest in infrastructure to provide high-quality network services across the continent.
Future Developments in Connectivity
- Continued investment in satellite technology integration.
- Expansion of services to additional sectors requiring reliable connectivity.
- Further development of infrastructure to enhance digital services across Africa.
Internet Technologies Angola is setting a new standard for connectivity in remote industrial operations.
