Leapmotor Launches B10 Hybrid EV in South Africa

Leapmotor expands its electric vehicle lineup in South Africa with the launch of the B10 Hybrid EV.

The B10 Hybrid EV, a compact SUV, features a 158 kW electric motor and a 1.5-litre petrol engine that generates electricity. Orders opened on 18 August 2026, with pricing starting at R499,900.

Leapmotor’s B10 Hybrid EV Launch Details

The B10 Hybrid EV is the second model introduced by Leapmotor in South Africa, following the C10 Hybrid EV. This compact SUV employs a range-extender system, where the petrol engine solely generates electricity when the battery is low, ensuring efficient energy use.

Equipped with an 18.8 kWh battery, the B10 can travel up to 86 km on electric power alone. When fully fueled and charged, it boasts a total driving range of up to 900 km, with a claimed combined fuel consumption of 0.9 litres per 100 km.

Key Features and Safety Ratings

The B10 Hybrid EV offers a modern cabin with a 14.6-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The Leapmotor app enhances user experience by allowing owners to monitor battery levels, control air conditioning, and schedule charging.

Safety is a priority, with the vehicle featuring seven airbags and 17 driver-assistance features. The B10 has achieved a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, highlighting its commitment to passenger safety.
