Toyota South Africa is set to launch its new sixth-generation RAV4 line-up, featuring a range of models and powertrains tailored for local consumers.
The initial model line-up includes four derivatives, with prices starting from R770 500 for the 2.5 HEV GX E-Four and reaching R941 800 for the 2.5 HEV GR-S E-Four. The new RAV4 offers both internal combustion and hybrid options, catering to diverse preferences.
New Toyota RAV4 Offers Diverse Options
The sixth-generation RAV4 will be available in three trim grades: GX, VX, and the new GR-Sport (GR-S). The GR-S variant features unique design elements and mechanical enhancements, including revised steering and suspension for improved performance.
Customers can choose between an internal combustion engine (ICE) model and a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) setup. The ICE model, priced from R799 900, boasts a 2.0-litre engine delivering 127 kW and 203 N.m of torque.
Fuel Efficiency and Driving Range of RAV4
The ICE model achieves an average fuel consumption of 6.3 L/100 km, offering a driving range of over 870 km on a full tank. The HEV models, which include the GX and VX, provide even better efficiency, with claimed consumption figures of 4.5 L/100 km and driving ranges of up to 1 222 km.
The GR-S variant, while slightly less efficient at 4.7 L/100 km, still offers a respectable driving range of 1 170 km.

The new RAV4 comes with a three-year/100 000 km vehicle warranty and a service plan covering six services or 90 000 km. HEV models also include an eight-year/160 000 km battery warranty.
