Libya gains direct access to Chinese ports with a new shipping service.

Cosco Shipping Lines has launched a North Africa Express service connecting Chinese ports directly to Libya. This service operates every three weeks with three vessels, each capable of carrying about 4,300 TEU.

New Shipping Route Enhances Trade for Libya

The North Africa Express service marks a pivotal development for Libyan importers. Previously, most cargo from the Far East was routed through Port Said, making this direct service a significant improvement in logistics.

The vessels used in this service are 80,000 deadweight tonne box-shaped general cargo and bulk carriers. They are owned by Cosco Shipping Development and operated by Cosco Shipping Bulk, utilizing assets from the broader Cosco group.
