Egypt is enhancing its maritime links with East Africa through a new joint venture.

The Canal Shipping Agencies Company has partnered with Trust Trading and Transport Company to operate specialized commercial vessels between Egyptian and East African ports. This initiative aligns with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s vision to expand intra-African trade and boost exports.

Egypt’s New Maritime Joint Venture Explained

The cooperation protocol was signed in the presence of Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir. The new venture will manage livestock and cargo vessels, offering integrated logistics services. These services include shipping agency representation, customs clearance, inland transport, storage, and coordination with veterinary and regulatory authorities.

Initially, operations will take place through Safaga Port, with future plans to extend to other Red Sea ports. This strategic move aims to streamline livestock supply chains and reduce logistics bottlenecks.
