Community spirit shines brightly in Lagos as the Lagos State Community Development Advisory Council (LSCDAC) awarded a prestigious Merit Award for Community Service to the Executive Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, on December 17, 2025. This recognition highlights his exceptional contributions to grassroots development and community empowerment.
The award ceremony unfolded at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, located in the bustling heart of Lagos State Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja. The event was attended by a wide array of stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and residents who gathered to celebrate community achievements.
According to LSCDAC, the award was a significant acknowledgment of Hon. Odunmbaku’s steadfast dedication to a people-oriented approach to governance, promoting inclusivity, and implementing community service initiatives that have made a profound difference in the lives of Ojodu residents.
Pastor Segun Fayemi, the Chairman of the Community Development Council for Ojodu LCDA, addressed the audience and emphasized how the Segun Odunmbaku administration has embraced the HEYSRELOADED AGENDA. This initiative prioritizes community engagement, infrastructural expansion, healthcare accessibility, social welfare programming, and building fruitful partnerships with Community Development Associations (CDAs).
This accolade not only celebrates Hon. Odunmbaku’s achievements but also emphasizes the vital role of community-focused leadership in fostering social welfare and upliftment in Nigerian society. As the momentum for community service initiatives grows, it is expected that more leaders will follow suit, creating an even more vibrant and connected Lagos.
As we reflect on this achievement, it serves as an inspiration for other leaders within Nigeria and across Africa to prioritize community development and embrace inclusive practices that uplift all citizens. With more local leaders taking similar initiatives, the potential for enhanced quality of life through supportive governance looks brighter than ever in cities like Lagos.
