Resolute Mining Expands Gold Resources in Côte d'Ivoire: A Positive Step Forward for African Mining Industry
In a significant development for the African mining sector, Resolute Mining has unveiled an impressive initial mineral resource estimate (MRE) of 643,000 ounces of contained gold at its La Debo Project in Côte d’Ivoire. This exciting news marks a 60% increase compared to previous historical estimates, signaling a promising future for gold mining in this strategically important region.
Côte d’Ivoire is fast becoming a vibrant hub for mining exploration, and Resolute Mining is at the forefront of this burgeoning industry. The new estimates were bolstered by successful exploration efforts at the G3S prospect located within the La Debo permit. The company is focused on expanding this high-grade mineralization, as well as exploring potential targets in the southwestern section of the permit.
Adding to the excitement, Resolute Mining has recently been granted two new exploration permits, Serihio and Okroyou, which lie adjacent to the La Debo permit. With plans to initiate exploration on these new areas in 2026, the potential for the La Debo Project to grow further seems promising. Depending on the outcomes of these exploration efforts, Resolute may provide an updated MRE by late 2026.
With an impressive portfolio boasting over 7 million ounces of gold resources across three assets in Côte d’Ivoire, Resolute’s Doropo Project stands out as the most advanced. The company anticipates releasing an updated feasibility study in December 2025, followed by construction in 2026 and the much-anticipated first gold production slated for 2028.
In addition to the La Debo Project, Resolute is also exploring the ABC Project, which currently holds a resource estimate of 2.2 million ounces. The company has kicked off an exploration program consisting of approximately 25,000 meters of reverse circulation drilling, set to continue over the next six months. This exploration drive is pivotal to Resolute’s growth strategy and aims to extend both resource potential and mine life while unlocking new opportunities.
Moreover, Resolute Mining is not stopping at Côte d’Ivoire; it anticipates sharing updates on its exploration and mine extension endeavors in Senegal before the year concludes. This reflects the company’s unwavering commitment to value creation and sustainable development through strategic exploration.
As Resolute Mining forges ahead in Côte d’Ivoire and beyond, it is clear that the African mining landscape is ripe with opportunities. This growth not only promises to bolster Resolute’s position in the industry but also highlights the potential of African nations to emerge as significant players in the global mining arena.
