MBABANE: In a significant step towards a thriving future, Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has reaffirmed Eswatini’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development. This was announced during a landmark event hosted at the UN House in Mbabane, marking the signing of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for 2026-2030.
Dlamini conveyed the Kingdom’s ambitious vision, stating, “As a Nation, we have set for ourselves a bold ambition to transition into an upper-middle-income country driven by inclusive, sustainable, and resilient growth.” This framework represents more than just a policy—it’s a pledge to transform the lives of every citizen, touching on family, community, and overarching national development.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, highlighting the need to accelerate the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through strategic investments. He noted, “To realize the 2030 Agenda, we must scale up financing in high-impact sectors, strengthen governance, and enhance partnerships, ensuring that no one is left behind, especially our vulnerable groups.” His words resonate deeply with the aspirations of the people of Eswatini, as they seek to build a more prosperous and equitable future.
In a forward-thinking move, the National Grand Plan for National Transformation will be integrated into the Cooperation Framework, ensuring that the nation’s efforts are cohesive and guided by well-researched priorities. The signing ceremony saw the presence of esteemed figures such as George Wachira, the UN Eswatini Resident Coordinator, and Economic Planning Development Minister Dr. Thambo Gina, reinforcing the collaborative spirit between Eswatini and international partners.
