In an exciting development for the aviation industry, Qantas has made a strategic move by appointing John Simeone as the new executive manager of offshore sales and alliances. This new role is set to significantly enhance the airline’s global outreach and partnership synergies. Simeone will report directly to CEO of Qantas International, Cam Wallace, and his appointment takes effect on December 1, 2025.

Simeone is returning to Australia after a fruitful two-year tenure as CEO of Jetstar Asia, where he skillfully managed regional operations and navigated the complexities of the post-pandemic landscape. Notably, he played a pivotal role in reviving Qantas International sales in the aftermath of COVID-19 and previously served as the regional general manager for Asia, based in Singapore.
