First City Monument Bank Opens New Branch in Sangotedo, Sparking Hope for Economic Growth

In a significant development for the community of Sangotedo, Lagos, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has officially opened its new branch, exciting local residents and businesses alike. The opening ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including representatives from local kingdoms, who heralded the event as a catalyst for future economic growth.

The Ogudu Oshadi I of Ogombo Kingdom, Oba Abiodun Ogunbo, sent his warm regards through the Aro of Ogombo Kingdom, Lukman Lawal. He expressed enthusiasm about the banking services FCMB would provide, acknowledging the bank’s successful track record of empowering both individuals and businesses. “The presence of FCMB is much needed,” Lawal stated, emphasizing that this new branch could create opportunities that invigorate the local economy.

Echoing these sentiments, the Olu of Sangotedo Kingdom, Oba Mohammed Olufunmi, represented by Otunba Tunde Johnson, lauded the bank’s commitment to the community. He pointed out that Sangotedo is experiencing rapid development, making the establishment of robust banking services essential for its residents. Johnson urged FCMB to continue deepening its relationship with the community, fostering an environment ripe for economic boom.

John Ogundare, the Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area, noted that this branch opening marks a significant milestone for both Sangotedo and the entire Eti-Osa region. He referred to the branch as a “testament to the growth and potential of our community,” emphasizing the need for banking support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). “SMEs are the backbone of our economy,” Ogundare asserted, highlighting their role as vital catalysts of development.

Yemisi Edun, the Managing Director and CEO of FCMB, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable banking. She assured attendees that the bank would grow alongside the community, offering flexible financing options tailored for local businesses. “Our aim is to integrate more individuals into the formal economy,” she emphasized during the ceremony.

As strategic infrastructure around Sangotedo continues to develop, including the nearby Lekki–Epe corridor, the Dangote Refinery, and Deep-Sea Port, FCMB’s new branch positions itself as a beacon of opportunity. The bank’s Group Head of Operations and International Trade Services, Ademola Idowu, echoed this sentiment, underscoring FCMB’s dedication to delivering exceptional services that promote sustainable growth.

With excitement and optimism sweeping through the community, the new FCMB branch is not just a bank; it’s a symbol of hope for a thriving economic future in Sangotedo. As the bank forges ahead, it stands ready to support residents and businesses, ushering in a new era of financial inclusion and community empowerment.
