PEP Mini Netball Program Empowers Young Girls through Exciting Competition

The PEP mini Netball program continues to shine bright, fostering community upliftment and empowering young girls across South Africa. One exciting initiative alongside this beloved program is the “Dumi’s Choice” competition, where schools can win a brand-new netball court valued at an impressive R200,000! Yes, you read that right; this is an incredible opportunity for schools to enhance their sporting facilities while nurturing the talents of young netball enthusiasts.

Leading the charge is none other than netball legend Dumisani Chauke, a passionate advocate for youth development and a former assistant coach of the national Proteas team. Chauke has deep roots in the netball community and has been instrumental in the growth of the PEP mini Netball program, which now boasts 40 vibrant festivals throughout all nine provinces in South Africa. “Thanks to PEP, these festivals are more than just tournaments; they are platforms where girls can truly thrive,” says Chauke. He’s thrilled to see the program evolving into a force for good in communities, showcasing the importance of sports in personal and social development.

So, how can schools get in on this fantastic opportunity? Eligible schools are already participating in the PEP mini Netball program, and they can enter by submitting a brief motivation explaining why their current netball court deserves a makeover, along with pictures that showcase its current condition. This is a chance for schools to get creative and demonstrate their passion for netball!

To enter, teachers must post a captivating photo of their netball team on Instagram featuring the hashtag #PEPminiNetball while also tagging @dumi6871 and @pep_southafrica. They should also share their favorite moment from a PEP mini Netball festival or coaching session, sparking enthusiasm about the program’s impact. Submissions are welcomed starting June 2025, and entries will be open until August 31, 2025. The winning school will be announced on September 10, 2025.

The winner won’t just receive a new court; this makeover will include resurfacing, line marking, and essential structural repairs. Additionally, coaching tools such as bibs and netballs will be provided to ensure coaches have the resources they need to cultivate talent. PEP is proud to partner with Dumisani Chauke to make a lasting difference in the community and elevate the sport of mini netball, proving that through teamwork, dedication, and a little bit of fun, anything is possible!

This initiative not only bolsters sports enthusiasts but also paves the way for young girls to aspire for greatness. With PEP’s commitment and Dumisani’s guidance, the future of netball in South Africa is looking brighter than ever!

Stay updated on this inspiring journey and consider supporting local initiatives like these that contribute to community development.
