Exciting New Quantum Summer Program for Arab Students Launched by QWorld and AIU!

Dive into the Future: Egypt's National Quantum Computing Summer Course

In an exciting development for education and tech in the Arab world, Alamein International University (AIU), in collaboration with QWorld, QEgypt, and AleQCG, is set to launch a groundbreaking online summer course focused on quantum computing. This initiative, part of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ2025), aims to equip university students from Egypt and across the Arab region with cutting-edge knowledge in this revolutionary field.

Starting from July to October 2025, the course is designed for those with a foundation in Python programming and mathematics. The online format encourages active participation through engaging lectures, interactive labs, quizzes, and collaborative projects, ensuring that students are not just passive learners but active contributors to the learning process.

The curriculum is built around QWorld’s well-regarded levels—Bronze, Silver, and Nickel tutorials—covering essential topics such as quantum circuits, teleportation phenomena, Grover’s algorithm, and even introductory quantum machine learning. The program is divided into two phases, which include a rigorous 12 weeks of instruction followed by a two-week project phase. Students will have the chance to participate in a hackathon or to work on term projects, providing them with practical, hands-on experience.

Upon satisfactory completion, participants will gain both a final grade and a prestigious certificate from QWorld. Depending on individual universities, students may also receive academic credit, making this not only a chance to learn but also to bolster their academic credentials.

With instruction available in Arabic and access provided via platforms like Canvas and Discord, this initiative intends to build quantum capacity across the region and democratize access to advanced scientific education. The organizing team, which includes esteemed figures like Prof. Ahmed Younes and Dr. Rasha Montaser, is dedicated to cultivating Egypt’s position as a leader in quantum education and workforce development.

This national online course signifies a major step towards enhancing capabilities in quantum science in a region that is growing increasingly interested in technology and science. Those interested in learning more can visit QWorld’s official program page here.

Stay tuned as Egypt makes waves in the world of quantum computing, paving the way for future innovators and thinkers.
