Namibia Airports Company Welcomes Namene Kalili as New Executive
In an exciting development for the aviation and economic sectors, the Namibia Airports Company (NAC) has announced the appointment of the distinguished economist Namene Kalili as the new Commercial Services and Strategy Executive. This pivotal role, effective from April 1, 2025, will be based at NAC’s Head Office in Windhoek, where Kalili aims to enhance the company’s revenue growth through innovative commercial strategies.
With over 20 years of experience navigating the Namibian economy, Kalili brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. His primary focus will be to lead the development and execution of a new five-year Integrated Strategic Business Plan (ISBP) designed to propel NAC forward. Bisey /Uirab, the CEO of NAC, expressed enthusiasm about Kalili’s hiring, stating, “We are fortunate to have him with us. His extensive understanding of our economy and his dynamic approach will undoubtedly enhance our efforts to establish Hosea Kutako International Airport as a significant transit hub within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).”
Kalili is equally eager to embrace his new responsibilities. “I’m excited to come on board and contribute to the success of the NAC team. The potential of this organization is immense, and I believe we can significantly impact Namibia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP),” he stated. With a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Kalili is determined to implement management procedures and processes that will unleash the full potential of NAC’s workforce.
He emphasizes a forward-thinking approach, saying, “Our new strategic plan will require us to be both robust and innovative, with a focus on our employees. By the end of five years, I want us to reflect and say we achieved our goals. It might not be an easy journey, but with the right resources—both financial and human—we can certainly make it happen.”
Before joining NAC, Kalili held influential positions at the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority, FirstRand Namibia Holdings, the Namibian Agronomic Board, and the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation. His diverse experience in the financial and agricultural sectors equips him with a comprehensive understanding of the various challenges and opportunities that NAC may face.
As NAC gears up for transformative changes under Kalili’s leadership, the organization is optimistic about its future trajectory and its contribution to the development of Namibia’s aviation infrastructure and economy at large.
Stay tuned as we look forward to more updates on Kalili’s impactful journey with the Namibia Airports Company!
