Empowering Africa: Unveiling a Bold Action Plan for Digital Inclusion and Connectivity

Paratus Group Makes Waves in Education Across Africa

In an inspiring move, Paratus Group has unveiled its latest initiative aimed at enhancing the lives of communities throughout Africa. With the launch of its Paratus Social Investment (PSI) program, the company is channeling resources into vital education and infrastructure projects that will reshape the futures of many in Namibia, Mozambique, and Angola.

The heart of this initiative beats strongly in Namibia, where Paratus has established a robust partnership with Eduvision. This collaboration focuses on elevating digital learning in rural schools—a mission that has proven effective for over six years. By providing GEO (Geostationary Earth Orbit) satellite equipment along with robust infrastructure and technical support, Paratus has empowered more than 12,000 students and 471 teachers across various educational levels, from Junior Primary to Senior Secondary. Barney Harmse, Executive Chairman of Paratus Group, remarked, “Eduvision is a beacon of educational light, equipping Namibia’s future leaders with essential digital tools and teaching techniques. By providing connectivity to schools in underserved areas, we help unlock the potential of learners and teachers alike.”

But the initiative doesn’t stop at Namibia. Down in Mozambique, Paratus has transformed the entire Santa Maria community on the beautiful Machangulo Peninsula by introducing high-speed internet through a Starlink installation at the local administrative post. This upgrade has revolutionized educational access for 1,466 students and 30 teachers—greatly enhancing their ability to utilize online resources. The ripple effect extends beyond education; local healthcare services and businesses are also benefitting from reliable internet, which is fueling both academic and economic growth for the 3,500 residents of the community.

As Paratus continues its commitment to uplift African communities, it is clear that educational access and technological advancements are central to their strategy. The positive impacts of this program extend beyond the classroom, ultimately fostering a brighter future for entire communities by fostering digital literacy and economic development.

With endeavors like these, Paratus Group is not just making connections; they’re building bridges to a better tomorrow.
