Onasolar to Energize Egypt with 144 MW of Solar Projects by Mid-2025!

Onasolar’s Ambitious Solar Projects: A Bright Future for Egypt’s Energy Landscape

In an exciting development for Egypt’s renewable energy sector, Onasolar, a prominent solar energy company, is gearing up to complete an impressive 144 megawatts of solar energy projects by mid-2025. According to a spokesperson from Onasolar who spoke with Africazine, this initiative not only reflects the growing trend toward sustainable energy in the region but also showcases Egypt’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.

Among the key projects is a 4-megawatt solar installation at Cairo Airport, which is set to be finalized by June 2025. This installation will span across seven different buildings within the airport complex, including lounges, garages, and warehouses, promoting energy efficiency at one of Africa’s busiest airports.

Moreover, Onasolar is embarking on a significant 100-megawatt solar power station for the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity, located in West Sohag. This project is also expected to be operational by mid-2025, further diversifying Egypt’s energy portfolio.

In addition, Onasolar has secured plans for a 40-megawatt solar station in the Wadi El Natrun area, catering specifically to an agricultural investment project that encompasses an impressive 37,000 acres. This initiative aims to boost agricultural sustainability and will connect to Egypt’s expanding national electricity grid by December 2024.

Onasolar’s track record in the renewable energy sector is commendable, including a notable 300-megawatt solar project in Aswan for the Alcazar company. The company is not resting on its laurels; it is also eyeing new projects in partnership with the Ministry of Electricity, with aspirations for capacity expansions ranging from 500 to 1,000 megawatts. These projects aim to provide competitively priced electricity, enhancing the energy market’s appeal.

As the world pivots toward greener energy solutions, Egypt’s initiatives bolstered by Onasolar are setting the stage for a bright, sustainable future. With the ambitious projects underway, not only will these initiatives assist in meeting domestic energy demands, but they also position Egypt as a leader in the African renewable energy landscape.

For those keen on eco-conscious energy developments, keep your eyes on Onasolar, as they pave the way for a transformative energy landscape in Egypt.
