Nigeria drew 1-1 against Equatorial Guinea in their AFCON opening game which left majority of the fans discontented.
For Thursday’s game, Cote d’Ivoire as hosts are considered favorites having won their first game against Guinea Bissau.
Speaking in a chat with Brila FM on ‘No Holds Barred With Ifeanyi Udeze’, Kanu made strong his support for the Super Eagles to come out top in that encounter.
“They are playing at home doesn’t mean that they have authority to win. We need to pick uo from our match against Equatorial Guinea and pick up the positives.
“The coach needs to go back to the drawing board. This game is a very important game. The pressure is there, the fans are there.”
“We need to put it into them. Legends are called legends because of their impact. Representing Nigeria is representing 250 million people.”
“When you’re doing well in your club, you know that you need to double up when your nation calls you. For me, I’m not shaking. I know they will come out for it.”
