Celebrating Future Leaders: Malosa Secondary School Graduation Ceremony
In an inspiring ceremony held recently at Malosa Secondary School in Zomba, Bishop William Mchombo of the Anglican Diocese of Upper Shire (ADUS) delivered an uplifting message to the outgoing Form Four students as they prepared for the next chapter in their lives. The event not only marked the conclusion of the students’ examinations but also served as a platform to reinforce essential values that will guide them in the future.
Bishop Mchombo shared a heartfelt call to action with the graduates, encouraging them to uphold good character and responsibility as they transition from secondary education to the broader world. “These students should be young men and women of good character—people whose behavior attracts others positively,” he emphasized, highlighting the significance of leaving a lasting legacy for future generations. He urged students to take care of the school’s facilities, ensuring that they remain a resource for years to come.
Echoing the bishop’s sentiments, Malosa Secondary School’s headteacher, Peter Bamusi, complemented the graduates on their disciplined approach to their studies. “This has been a very disciplined and hardworking group,” he said proudly, noting the students’ impressive achievements, including winning the English competition at the division level and ranking high in division mock exams. This level of success showcases the dedication and resilience fostered at the school.
On behalf of the students, former head boy Arthur Sawasawa expressed deep gratitude to the teachers who have played a pivotal role in their development. “We owe you our heartfelt appreciation for the parental love and care you have shown us over the past four years,” he said, encapsulating the bond formed between students and teachers during their educational journey.
This year, 165 students from Malosa Secondary School are poised to sit for the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations, representing a significant milestone in their academic careers. As they prepare for the challenges that lie ahead, these graduates are armed not only with knowledge but also with the values and character that will guide them towards becoming responsible leaders in their communities.
The graduation ceremony was a reminder that education goes beyond textbooks—it’s about nurturing well-rounded individuals ready to face the world with integrity and purpose.
