<p>Highlighting the benefits of CBE, Sifuna points out that the curriculum emphasizes skill development over traditional academic performance. This shift encourages students to participate in co-curricular activities, including emerging fields like competitive chess and scrabble, which can lead to global opportunities. Through these initiatives, students will develop not just academically but also as well-rounded individuals ready to contribute positively to society.</p>
<p>Moreover, Sifuna emphasized the collaboration between public and private educational institutions, reflecting a shared commitment to high-quality education that prepares students for various career pathways. For instance, some private schools have offered specialized courses in fields such as aviation, evidencing the potential of CBE to create real-world opportunities—over 300 commercial pilots have emerged from one institution alone!</p>
<p>Dr. Peter Munga, the proprietor of Pioneer School, echoed Sifuna’s sentiments, urging the government to recognize the school’s capacity to implement the three educational pathways as envisioned by the Ministry of Education.
