Samsung’s Solar Power Initiative in Ho Chi Minh City

The solar power system features nearly 45,000 solar panels installed across the rooftops of the Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex. This project adheres to international technical standards and is the first rooftop solar project in Vietnam to operate under the Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) mechanism.

By utilizing a dedicated transmission line, the project aligns with Government Decree No. 57/2025/ND-CP, showcasing a commitment to innovative energy solutions in the region.

Impact on Vietnam’s Energy Transition

Once fully operational, the facility will contribute to Vietnam’s energy transition by generating clean electricity and reducing carbon emissions by over 26,000 tons of CO2 each year. This aligns with the country’s goals for emissions reduction and increased use of renewable energy.

Samsung’s initiative not only supports its global sustainability strategy but also sets a precedent for future renewable energy projects in Vietnam.
