The Vietnam Ranking of Higher Education Institutions has unveiled its top universities for 2026, showcasing significant advancements in the education sector.
Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City; and Hanoi University of Science and Technology lead the rankings. Notably, Lac Hong University surged 75 places to rank 52nd, up from 127th last year.

The VNUR rankings highlight the top 100 universities in Vietnam, reflecting a commitment to quality and transparency in higher education. This year, the rankings involved a review of 237 institutions, with 193 meeting the criteria for inclusion.
The evaluation process utilized data from various independent sources, ensuring objectivity. This comprehensive approach aligns with international standards, marking the fourth consecutive year of VNUR rankings.
Criteria for Ranking Vietnamese Universities
VNUR employs a rigorous set of standards comprising six criteria groups and 18 indicators. The Accredited Quality criterion holds the highest weight at 30%, followed by Teaching at 25% and Scientific Publications at 20%.
Other factors include Science and Technology Tasks and Patents (10%), Student Quality (10%), and Facilities (5%). This structured methodology aims to enhance the quality of education across Vietnam.
