Oyo State is taking significant steps to enhance education accessibility and effectiveness through a new initiative.
Governor ‘Seyi Makinde has launched the distribution of motorcycles and 72,000 notebooks to support School Support Officers (SSOs) and School Mobilization Officers (SMOs) across the state’s 33 Local Government Areas. This initiative is part of the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) AF TESS Project, aimed at improving learning conditions for children.

During the launch event in Ibadan, the Governor emphasized the importance of this initiative in making education more accessible and inclusive. He stated that the motorcycles will enable SSOs and SMOs to reach communities more efficiently, thereby enhancing their ability to identify out-of-school children and encourage enrolment.
Additionally, the distribution of notebooks is designed to provide essential learning materials that can significantly improve students’ participation in lessons. The Governor highlighted that these resources are a practical investment in the educational framework supporting children’s learning.
