The All Progressives Congress (APC) is rallying support from non-indigenous communities in Lagos for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 reelection bid.

During a three-day visit, the APC state chairmen’s forum met with leaders from various communities, including Arewa, Ndigbo, South-South, and Nupe. The forum’s chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, praised these communities for their past support and urged them to deepen their commitment as the election approaches.

APC Seeks Unity Among Diverse Communities

The APC’s outreach to non-indigenous communities highlights the party’s strategy to consolidate support ahead of the 2027 elections. Ojelabi acknowledged the vital role these communities play in the party’s electoral successes and called for increased dedication.

Dr. Aliyu Bello, the forum’s secretary, emphasized the importance of law-abiding behavior among community members and their obligation to support the host state. He urged attendees to respect their boundaries and reciprocate the hospitality of their host communities.

Lagos Communities Commit to Tinubu’s Reelection

Community leaders expressed their unwavering support for President Tinubu’s second term. Joe Igbokwe, representing the Ndigbo, affirmed their commitment to the APC, stating that they are fully invested in the party’s success. Alhaji Saadu Gulma, chairman of Arewa APC Lagos, announced plans for a general conference involving Arewa communities across the southern states to strategize for the upcoming elections.
