Nedbank Kapana Cook-Off Launches in Windhoek
The 2026 Nedbank Kapana Cook-Off was unveiled at Temperature Lounge, gathering media, partners, and stakeholders to celebrate Namibia’s kapana culture. Selma Kaulinge, communications and public relations manager at Nedbank Namibia, emphasized that the initiative is more than just a cooking competition; it serves as a business incubator for grassroots entrepreneurs.
Participants will receive essential resources, including financial support and business training, to help them succeed. The competition aims to elevate informal vendors into formal business owners, fostering economic growth within the community.
Regional Rounds and Grand Finale Details
The competition will feature regional rounds in Swakopmund on 1 August, Oshakati on 29 August, and Windhoek on 19 September. The grand finale is scheduled for 3 October in Katutura. The amateur category winner will receive a fully equipped mobile kapana kitchen valued at N0 000, a Nedbank account seeded with N 000, and a Bakpro voucher worth N 000.
Winners will also benefit from financial literacy training and ongoing business support, enhancing their chances of success in the competitive food industry.
