Significant investments are transforming educational facilities in Miri.
SJKC Chung Hua Krokop is undergoing extensive upgrades under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), with RM550,000 allocated from 2022 to 2025. Recent improvements include RM200,000 for classroom renovations and infrastructure enhancements, aimed at creating a better learning environment.
Facility Upgrades Enhance Learning Environment
The Pujut assemblyman, Adam Yii, highlighted the importance of these upgrades during a recent school visit. Between 2022 and 2023, RM200,000 was allocated, with RM100,000 dedicated to upgrading classroom and corridor floor tiles and repairing a waiting shed. Another RM100,000 was used for improving roads, parking areas, drainage, and the running track.
In 2024, an additional RM100,000 will be used to replace window panels and repair metal grilles in 70 classrooms. Yii emphasized that these persistent issues needed urgent attention to prevent serious consequences.
Miri’s Commitment to Educational Development
Last year, RM250,000 was invested in upgrading teachers’ offices and learning spaces, including refurbishing the school library and replacing damaged furniture. Yii noted that reorganizing the internal layout would enhance spatial flow and usability, fostering a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
