Dayma Launches Nationwide Nature and Science Events Across Egypt in April

Egypt is set to engage its citizens in biodiversity tracking this April.

Dayma Education Experiences is launching a nationwide programme featuring nature walks, bioblitzes, and biodiversity tracking events across Egypt. Activities will occur in cities from Aswan to Port Said and El Gouna, inviting participants to observe and document local ecosystems.

Dayma’s Nationwide Biodiversity Initiative

The April programme aims to enhance environmental education through hands-on experiences. Participants will engage in various activities, including birding walks and iNaturalist sessions, designed to foster a deeper connection with nature.

This initiative aligns with global efforts like Citizen Science Month and the City Nature Challenge. These events encourage communities worldwide to document plant and animal species, contributing valuable data to biodiversity research.

City Nature Challenge Comes to Cairo

This year marks the first time the City Nature Challenge will occur in Cairo, scheduled for April 24th to 27th. Residents will join a global effort to document urban wildlife, showcasing the rich biodiversity present in Greater Cairo.

Organisers emphasize the importance of making science accessible, encouraging direct engagement with nature while supporting broader research on environmental changes.
