Thirty Young Namibians Receive Seed Capital for Sustainable Businesses

Namibia is empowering its youth through a new business initiative.

Thirty young people from the ǁKharas Region will receive seed capital of N,000 each to launch sustainable businesses as part of the MTC 4 Life 2026 programme. This initiative targets self-employed and unemployed youth aged 18 to 35, providing them with practical skills and tools to succeed.

MTC 4 Life Programme Launches in Namibia

The MTC 4 Life programme aims to foster entrepreneurship among young Namibians. MTC’s Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability Officer, Tim Ekandjo, emphasized the company’s commitment to national development. He stated that the initiative is designed to create real opportunities for youth, enabling them to shape their futures.

Participants will undergo seven days of intensive practical training in various trades, including Hairdressing, Barbering, Baking, Leatherwork, Sewing, and Cell Phone Repair. Each trade will accommodate up to five trainees to ensure focused mentorship and effective skills transfer.
