Oyo and Kwara states are gearing up for significant state congresses of the All Progressives Congress.

Scheduled for Tuesday, these congresses aim to solidify party leadership structures. In Oyo, stakeholders have established a zoning committee to allocate positions within the State Executive Committee, while Kwara’s congress will see delegates from across the state convene at the Arca Centre in Ilorin.

Oyo APC Prepares for State Congress

In Oyo, the All Progressives Congress is finalizing arrangements for its state congress. Stakeholders convened at the APC State Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, where they formed an ad hoc zoning committee. This committee, chaired by Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, will guide the allocation of positions among the 33 local government chapters.

The committee’s formation reflects a commitment to peace and harmony within the party as they approach the 2027 general elections. The Oyo APC Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, emphasized the importance of consensus in the upcoming congresses.

Kwara’s State Congress Set for Tuesday

Kwara’s APC has also scheduled its state congress for Tuesday, coinciding with the nationwide internal party activities. The congress will take place at the Arca Centre in Ilorin, starting at 10 am. Alhaji Abdullahi Samari, the chairman of the Kwara State APC Congress Committee, has urged delegates to adhere to the timetable and conduct themselves orderly.

Previous ward and local government congresses in Kwara were described as peaceful and orderly, setting a positive tone for the upcoming state-level gathering.
