The Khanh Hoa–Buon Ma Thuot Expressway is set for significant progress as the Vietnamese government pushes for timely completion.
The Government has instructed relevant agencies to expedite component two of the expressway, aiming for a technical opening before September 2, 2026, and full completion by the end of 2026. The expressway spans over 117 kilometers with a total investment of nearly VND22 trillion.
Government Pushes for Expressway Completion
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized the need for investors to accelerate progress during a recent working session in Dak Lak Province. He highlighted the importance of utilizing the current dry season to advance construction efforts across all components of the expressway.
Authorities in Dak Lak have been tasked with resolving any outstanding issues to ensure the expressway operates on schedule. Plans for rest areas and intelligent transport systems are also in development to enhance the infrastructure.
Details on the Expressway’s Components
The Khanh Hoa–Buon Ma Thuot Expressway consists of three main components. Component 1, managed by Khanh Hoa Province, covers over 31 kilometers. Component 2, implemented by the Ministry of Construction, is nearly 37 kilometers long and is currently around 64% complete. Component 3, overseen by Dak Lak Province, extends over 48 kilometers and was technically opened on December 19, 2025, with over 94% of construction finished as of mid-March 2026.
