Cairo’s Bus Rapid Transit Project Phase Two Nears Completion, Minister Inspects

The Cairo Bus Rapid Transit project is advancing with its second phase nearing completion.

Transport Minister Kamel El-Wazir inspected the final works of the second phase, which extends 40km from El-Mosheer Tantawy Station to Sun Capital Station. This phase includes 16 stations out of a total of 48 planned across the project’s three phases.

The second phase of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project is crucial following the successful uptake of the first phase. This initial phase runs from the Ring Road–Alexandria Agricultural Road intersection to the Police Academy Station. During the inspection, El-Wazir reviewed various facilities, including pedestrian bridges, ticketing systems, and electronic gates. The project aims to connect key transport hubs beneath the Ring Road, enhancing accessibility for passengers.
