Papua New Guinea is enhancing its digital infrastructure through an extensive National Transmission Network.

PNG DataCo, a subsidiary of Kumul Consolidated Holdings, operates the NTN, which spans over 12,000 km of fibre cable. This network facilitates both domestic and international connectivity, significantly improving access across the nation.

Expanding Domestic Connectivity in Papua New Guinea

The NTN features 14 cable landing stations along the Kumul Submarine Cable Network. This infrastructure supports a terrestrial fibre network that connects all 22 provinces and currently reaches 48 of the country’s 96 districts. Such extensive coverage is crucial for enhancing communication and digital services throughout Papua New Guinea.

By improving domestic connectivity, PNG DataCo aims to bridge the digital divide, ensuring that even remote areas have access to essential services and information. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to modernize the country’s telecommunications landscape.
