Egyptian photographers are called to showcase Ramadan dining traditions through a new exhibition.
The initiative, titled ‘Sofra w Tableya’, invites submissions of images capturing iftar and sohour across 26 governorates. Photographers can submit up to three photographs that reflect their local Ramadan food identity, accompanied by a description of the dish and its cultural significance.

‘Sofra w Tableya’ aims to document the rich culinary traditions of Ramadan in Egypt. This exhibition, organized by Photopia in collaboration with Documentaries 2000, encourages photographers to explore and share the communal aspects of dining during this holy month.
Participants are asked to focus on well-known dishes from their respective governorates, emphasizing the unique food identity of their regions. The initiative seeks to create a visual narrative that highlights the importance of communal meals during Ramadan.

Recognition for Top Participants
Selected works will be displayed at Photopia after Eid al-Fitr, showcasing the diverse food heritage of Egypt. The top three participants will receive formal recognition, with their contributions highlighted in the exhibition. This initiative not only celebrates culinary diversity but also fosters a sense of community through shared traditions.
