The Nigeria Union of Journalists praises the government’s commitment to infrastructure with a significant road project.
The Federal Government’s N31.2 billion road intervention project in Borno aims to enhance security and improve the movement of goods. The project includes the inauguration of the Beneshek-Gubio Road, a 24.15-kilometre stretch, of which 1.5 kilometres has been completed.
Government’s Road Project Aims to Boost Security
The Council Chairman, Abdulkareem Haruna, emphasized that the road project is vital for enhancing security in the region. Improved access will facilitate the movement of goods and services, particularly between Borno and its neighboring states. This initiative reflects the Federal Government’s renewed commitment to rebuilding infrastructure in areas affected by conflict.
Haruna highlighted the importance of better access roads for revitalizing economic activity and enabling security agencies to respond swiftly to threats. He urged the contractor to maintain the current pace of work, describing the project as critical for mobility and overall stability along the Maiduguri–Monguno corridor.
