Ljubljana is set to welcome a new architectural landmark with the planned construction of the Stolp Severnica.
This futuristic tower will rise to 100 meters, making it one of the tallest buildings in the city. Located in Šiška, it will surpass the nearby Spektra residential tower. The project has received a building permit, but specific details regarding timelines and costs remain undisclosed.
Stolp Severnica: A New Icon for Ljubljana
The Stolp Severnica is designed by Zaha Hadid Architects in collaboration with the Slovenian studio S Atelje. This slender tower features a unique fluid shape, consisting of three vertical volumes that merge at the center. The design includes two business volumes with a glazed facade and a third volume serving as a communication core.
With 21 above-ground floors and four basement levels, the building will accommodate around 740 employees. The ground floor and mezzanine will feature a lobby with a restaurant, while the upper floors will house business spaces. Notably, each floor, except for the lower quarter, will have access to smaller balconies, with larger viewing terraces on the 5th and 9th floors.
