Kavango Resources has unveiled promising findings from its diamond drilling at Bill’s Luck Gold Mine in Zimbabwe.

The company reported high-grade results from over 4,150 metres of drilling, confirming a new mineralised reef structure alongside the main vein. Key intercepts include 106.05 grams per tonne gold over 1.16 m in hole BLDDUG023 and 41.28 g/t gold over 1.05 m in hole BLDDUG020C.

Kavango Resources Confirms New Gold Reef Structure

Kavango Resources is making significant strides at the historic Bill’s Luck Gold Mine, located in Filabusi. The recent drilling campaign has not only intersected the known “Main Reef” but has also identified an additional mineralised reef structure running parallel to it. This discovery is crucial as it expands the potential for gold extraction in the area.

The Interim CEO, Peter Wynter Bee, expressed satisfaction with the drilling results, stating that they exceeded expectations. The mineralised system has been confirmed to extend to depths greater than 220 metres, showcasing continuity along strike and at depth. This depth and continuity are vital for future mining operations.

Zimbabwe: Key figures on diamond drilling results

  • 106.05 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 1.16 m in hole BLDDUG023
  • 41.28 g/t gold over 1.05 m in hole BLDDUG020C
  • 4.86 g/t gold over 6.96 m in hole BLDD020

Future Plans for Bill’s Luck Gold Mine

Kavango Resources plans to integrate the diamond drilling results with data from a separate reverse circulation drill programme. This combined data will inform the maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for Bill’s Luck, which is essential for guiding future mine planning and assessing long-term production potential.

The company is also developing a 50-tonne-per-day pilot plant at the site. Full results from the reverse circulation drill programme are expected in the coming weeks, which will further shape the MRE.

Upcoming Developments in Gold Production
