FNBB Reports Billions Processed Through Digital Banking Channels in FY2025

First National Bank of Botswana is making significant strides in digital banking, showcasing a robust growth in transaction volumes.

In the 2025 financial year, FNBB processed billions of pula through its digital channels, with CashPlus handling P7.8 billion in transactional value, a notable increase from P5.5 billion the previous year. The number of transactions surged to 9.3 million, up from 6.7 million, reflecting the bank’s expanding reach and customer engagement.

CashPlus Drives Transaction Growth in Botswana

FNBB’s agency banking network, CashPlus, has emerged as a key player in the bank’s transaction-led strategy. The network processed P7.8 billion in transactions during FY2025, marking a significant rise from the previous year’s P5.5 billion. The number of transactions increased dramatically, with 9.3 million recorded, compared to 6.7 million in FY2024.

The expansion of active agents to 1,794, particularly in remote areas, has contributed to this growth. Since its inception, CashPlus agents have earned approximately P25 million in cumulative commission income, underscoring the network’s success.

FNBB’s digital banking services have seen substantial growth, with the FNB Banking App reaching 384,000 users, up from 330,000. Customers completed 27 million airtime purchases and four million electricity purchases through the app, indicating a strong adoption of digital services.

Additionally, FNBB rolled out 884 eWallet Pro machines, enhancing its card-based bulk disbursement solutions for businesses. This expansion aims to facilitate payments to both banked and unbanked recipients, further solidifying FNBB’s commitment to inclusive banking.
