Ho Chi Minh City’s Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) is evolving into a pivotal hub for innovation and technology in Vietnam.

With over 20 years of development, SHTP has attracted more than 160 projects and total registered investment exceeding US billion. The park is focused on high value-added, high-tech manufacturing and aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2045.

SHTP’s Role in Vietnam’s High-Tech Ecosystem

SHTP has established itself as a core innovation nucleus for Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern Key Economic Region. It has attracted global technology giants like Intel, Samsung, and Schneider Electric, contributing significantly to the local economy.

The park has invested heavily in research and innovation infrastructure, including an R&D Center and a High-Tech Business Incubator. These facilities support the commercialization of “Make in Vietnam” technologies, enhancing national competitiveness.

Key Features of SHTP’s Development Model

A notable aspect of SHTP’s strategy is its commitment to green growth and digital transformation. The integration of AI and IoT in smart factories has led to a 20 percent to 30 percent reduction in energy and material consumption.

Additionally, smart energy systems have enabled solar power to account for up to 50 percent of total energy use. This approach aligns with Vietnam’s broader goals for sustainable development and technological advancement.

Future Goals and Strategic Initiatives

  • Strengthen SHTP’s role within the innovation ecosystem from 2025 to 2030.
  • Transform SHTP into an international-standard research and development center.
  • Support Ho Chi Minh City’s ambition to become a smart city.
  • Develop a diversified network of international-caliber innovation centers.

SHTP is positioning itself as a leader in technology and innovation, driving Vietnam’s digital transformation.
