Majida El Roumi’s Musical Journey

Born on December 13, 1956, in Kfarshima, Lebanon, Majida El Roumi is the daughter of musician Halim El Roumi. Her passion for music emerged early; she won a gold medal in the 1974 talent show “Studio El Fan.” This victory encouraged her father to support her musical ambitions.

El Roumi released her first single “Am Behlamak” in 1975, followed by her debut album “Wadaa” in 1976. Her acting career began with a role in Youssef Chahine’s film “Awdat Al Ibn Al Dal,” further establishing her presence in the arts.

El Roumi’s Humanitarian Efforts

In addition to her musical achievements, El Roumi has made significant contributions to humanitarian causes. In 2001, she was appointed as an ambassador for the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Her commitment to education is highlighted by her role in the ‘Alam Sagheer’ program, which promotes education without borders.
