Davido Set to Ignite AFCON 2025 Opening Concert in Rabat!

Davido Set to Shine at the Opening Concert for AFCON 2025 in Morocco

In an exciting announcement for football and music fans alike, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled that Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, will be the star performer at the kick-off concert for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Rabat, Morocco. This vibrant event is poised to kick off not just the tournament but also celebrate Africa’s rich cultural tapestry through music and entertainment.

Scheduled for Saturday, December 20, the concert will take place in the Olm Souissi Fan Zone, running from 6:00 PM until midnight local time. This electrifying pre-tournament event will precede the highly anticipated opening match between the host nation, Morocco, and Comoros at the impressive Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Joining Davido on stage will be an impressive lineup of global talents, including hip-hop superstar French Montana, the evocative Moroccan singer Douaa Lahyaoui, French-Moroccan hitmaker Lartiste, and rising star Says’z. These performances are set to create an unforgettable atmosphere, enhancing the excitement as fans gather to celebrate both football and music.

In a recent post on social media, CAF emphasized that the concert is not just an entertainment spectacle but a prelude steeped in rhythm and culture. “It’s all about the rhythm. And it starts long before kickoff,” the organization stated. The concert is part of the larger theme for AFCON 2025, titled “TotalEnergies AFCON 2025,” which aims to elevate the tournament from merely a sporting event to a cultural festival.

AFCON 2025, set to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, is expected to bring together Africa’s best national football teams, showcasing not only their athleticism but also their cultural heritage. In a bid to celebrate this diversity, CAF is encouraging players from participating nations to don traditional attire, offering a visual feast of the continent’s rich cultures.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Super Eagles will arrive at AFCON 2025 with a legacy of excellence—having clinched the championship three times previously and finishing as runners-up in the latest edition. This positions them as one of the tournament’s premier teams, adding an extra layer of anticipation as they strive for glory once more.

As the continent gears up for what promises to be a fantastic display of football, culture, and music, all eyes will be on Morocco and the vibrant festivities surrounding AFCON 2025. Whether you’re a die-hard football fan or a lover of music, this event is shaping up to be a spectacular celebration of African heritage and talent.
