In a thoughtful response to the evolving landscape of corporate events, FCM has launched its dedicated Meetings & Events (M&E) division, unveiling a suite of innovative tools designed to empower businesses in the realm of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE). This exciting development emphasizes the growing need for organizations to foster connection and collaboration, especially in our post-COVID world.
During a launch event in Johannesburg on October 31, Frits de Kok, the FCM M&E Regional Leader for EMEA, pointed out the increased importance of face-to-face interaction in our digital era, stating, “Coming out of COVID, we really saw the need for people to connect. In this new digital age of Zoom and Teams, the need for corporations to bring their people together was even greater than it was prior to COVID.”
The new FCM M&E initiative presents a comprehensive solution that acknowledges the complexities involved in organizing corporate events. De Kok elaborated that their value lies in bridging the gap between various stakeholders, catering to everyone from budget managers to the CEO. This is all part of the meticulous service FCM aims to provide.
To streamline the MICE process, FCM is rolling out advanced technology that simplifies event planning through an array of tools. These include everything from transport and air travel management to venue hiring, quotation processes, and on-site event production – all facilitated through user-friendly online platforms.
Mummy Mafojane, GM of FCM South Africa, noted that many local businesses are now allocating funds for MICE activities but are often juggling multiple suppliers. “M&E offers a one-stop shop to give clients clear visibility of where their spend is going,” she explained. This integrated approach not only simplifies planning but also enhances accountability.
Among the first tools launching is the Venue Finder platform, which allows businesses to search and secure venues that meet specific needs seamlessly. Clients will also enjoy an interactive quoting and proposal tool that helps manage budgets effectively while remaining true to sustainability values and attendees’ expectations.
Furthermore, FCM will introduce an on-site management tool that creates interactive applications for event registration, self-check-in, and event schedules, ensuring clients can deliver an exceptional on-site experience.
In a world increasingly leaning towards hybrid and in-person events, FCM is setting itself up as a game-changer in the MICE industry. This new division not only highlights FCM’s commitment to excellence but also responds to the growing demand for cohesive and well-organized corporate gatherings.
