CIFOEB Empowers Local Civil Society in Koupela with Training Initiative
In a remarkable step towards enhancing the capabilities of civil society organizations in Koupela, the Center for Information, Training, and Studies on the Budget (CIFOEB) recently conducted a dynamic training session from November 10 to November 16, 2025. This initiative, supported by the NGO Enabel, attracted around twenty enthusiastic participants from various civil society groups, marking a significant investment in grassroots development.
The five-day training program offered a rich curriculum that embraced critical themes such as new regulations and governance of associations, collective intelligence, leadership, organizational management, and the transparency and accountability of civil society organizations (CSOs). Such comprehensive topics not only bolster the skills of employees in civil society but also strive to cultivate a culture of responsible governance among organizations in the region.
Drissa Ouattara, the executive director of CIFOEB, underscored the importance of this training for enhancing the legitimacy and credibility of local CSOs. He expressed confidence that the skills acquired would greatly contribute to the local development strategies of the participants. “Our goal is to empower these organizations with the tools they need to drive positive change in their communities effectively,” Mr. Ouattara pointed out. This strategic focus aligns with the broader ambition of promoting sustainable development through local initiatives.
Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed how the insights and skills gained from this training will significantly improve their work and impact. One participant shared, “The modules were incredibly relevant to our real-world challenges, and I am committed to applying what I’ve learned to enhance our initiatives.” This enthusiasm signifies a promising outlook for future collaborations and projects aimed at fostering development in the region.
With CIFOEB’s continued efforts in providing such informative sessions, the future looks bright for civil society in Burkina Faso. Initiatives like these not only empower individual organizations but also further the collective mission of improving livelihoods and encouraging active citizen participation in local governance.
As we witness the growth and enhancement of civil society in Burkina Faso, it’s clear that investing in education, training, and development is essential for a thriving community. Keep an eye on Koupela as it serves as a shining example of how local empowerment can lead to monumental change.
