Celebrating Student Success at the SALA National Finals!

Big congratulations are in order for the talented students of Vredenburg High School, who proudly represented their school at the South African Literacy Association (SALA) National Finals for 2025! Their impressive performances not only showcased their skills but also highlighted the dedication and hard work that education demands.

Leading the charge was Nadia Bantu, a Grade 12 student, who secured an impressive 9th place in Reading HL! With her love for literature and commitment to honing her skills, Nadia truly exemplifies the spirit of youth learning and passion for language. The celebration doesn’t end there; Ludokuhle Ngcanga, also in Grade 12, made a striking mark by attaining the 8th place in Reading HL. These remarkable achievements speak volumes about their hard work and the support of their teachers and family.

Another round of applause goes to Willmore Daries, who showcased exceptional skills in oratory and secured a stellar 3rd place in Public Speaking HL. His ability to articulate thoughts and present them with confidence not only enriches his life but also inspires his peers and community.

The achievements of these students demonstrate that dedication, hard work, and creativity still shine brightly in academic pursuits. The SALA National Finals offered a fantastic platform for learners to gather, learn from others, and showcase their skills in reading and speaking—essentials for personal and academic growth.

At Vredenburg High School, the focus on nurturing young minds fosters an environment where students can thrive and excel in various disciplines. The commitment to promoting literacy and public speaking among learners is commendable and truly beneficial for their future endeavors.

Let’s continue to celebrate and support our young learners as they promote a culture of reading and expression. We wish Nadia, Ludokuhle, and Willmore further successes as they continue their educational journeys.
