Born Genesis Gabriella Tina Manney, Gigi’s journey began with poetry in Johannesburg. That is just incredible. Each performance will be like waving the South African flag, showcasing our unique sound to the world. It’s not just a personal triumph; it’s paving the way for fellow African artists too.”
Gigi also emphasized how her background in rap influences her deejaying. “The narrative aspect of storytelling is always present for me,” she noted. “When I’m on the decks, I look for the story in every beat, dropping verses through my track selection.”
But Gigi isn’t stopping there. She’s gearing up to release a new EP titled I’m Not a DJ. This project promises to meld her diverse influences unapologetically. “This is my official statement to the world,” she declared. “Expect more collaborations, international gigs, and a fresh take on dance music that retains my Gigi rap essence.
