This October, central South Africa is set to embrace a vibrant wave of pink in support of breast cancer awareness as OFM teams up with the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) for PinkTober 2025. Breast cancer continues to impact the lives of countless families across South Africa; however, through awareness and community support, there is hope for a brighter future.
OFM has set an ambitious goal of raising R500,000 for CANSA, which will directly fund critical research, care initiatives, and essential support for those battling breast cancer. It’s a call to action that resonates with many – and a cause that is close to the hearts of South Africans.
To add a festive flair to this significant fundraising initiative, OFM, in collaboration with Round Table Southern Africa, will be hosting the popular Bowling4Boobies corporate bowls series throughout central locations in South Africa. Kicking off in Bloemfontein on October 2, the series will travel to Vereeniging (October 9), Welkom (October 16), Hartswater (October 23), and conclude in Klerksdorp on October 30. Each event promises not just bowling but a night filled with delicious food, exciting prizes, and live entertainment led by the talented Rudo Schwim. Teams of four can participate for just R2,000, and every cent will go directly to supporting CANSA’s vital work.
Listeners looking to get involved can tune in every Thursday to OFM’s daytime shows, where stories of resilience and hope will be highlighted, alongside life-saving information. Residents can also show their commitment by taking the Pink Pledge. It’s straightforward to participate; simply send “pinkpledge” via Telegram to 084 222 9497 to make a donation. Additionally, wearing pink on Thursdays and sharing photos on social media tagged with #OFMPinkTober is a fun way to generate buzz and show solidarity.
“It’s back, it’s bigger, and it’s going to be awesome! Bowling4Boobies is officially one of our favorite events on the annual calendar. We can’t wait to paint central South Africa pink and have some serious fun while making a difference!” expressed Anchen Lintvelt, OFM’s sales and marketing manager.
