5M AI and Advanced Tech Hub Unveiled in Muscat by Oman’s Afouq and Egypt’s Prime Group!

In a landmark announcement that promises to propel Oman into the global spotlight of technology and innovation, Oman’s Afouq Developments and Egypt’s Prime Group have teamed up with the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT) to launch the Sultanate’s inaugural Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technologies Zone. This exciting development was revealed during the much-anticipated COMEX International Exhibition, an event renowned for showcasing groundbreaking advancements in technology.

Set to reshape the technological landscape of Muscat, the new zone is a bold step forward, representing an investment of around OMR 100 million, or roughly 5 million. Spanning an impressive 100,000 square meters, this ambitious initiative aims to attract both local talent and international technology startups looking for a hub where innovation thrives.

Siham Al-Harthi, the visionary Chairperson of Afouq Developments, shared her enthusiasm, stating, “Our shared vision with the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, under the leadership of Said Al-Maawali and his inspiring team, is to deliver a project that encompasses world-class technologies and forward-looking solutions. This zone will not only be an architectural icon that reflects our rich Omani heritage but also serve as a supportive environment where startups can flourish.”

The spirit of collaboration is palpable, as Mahmoud Farrag, CEO of Prime Group, emphasized the project’s international aspirations. “Immediately after signing the agreement, we began establishing partnerships with renowned global companies to bring this visionary project to life. Developing a dedicated AI and advanced technology hub necessitates collaboration with recognized players worldwide, which we are already pursuing,” he noted. With Prime Group’s extensive experience from various projects across Asia and Africa, they are poised to make a significant impact.

This game-changing initiative aligns seamlessly with Oman Vision 2040, the nation’s strategic roadmap aimed at economic diversification and enhancing digital infrastructure. By creating a space where innovation can thrive, Oman is not just participating in the global technology race; it’s positioning itself as a crucial contender.

With this ambitious project, Oman is set to inspire a new wave of technological advancement in the region, leading to opportunities for growth, collaboration, and innovation. As countries across Africa are making strides in technology, Oman’s affirmative actions could serve as a model for nations embarking on their own journeys of advancement.
