EAA AirVenture 2025 Breaks Attendance Records Amidst Unprecedented Celebrations in Oshkosh

In a stunning display of aviation enthusiasm, EAA AirVenture 2025 has shattered attendance records, welcoming approximately 704,000 visitors to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The previous record stood at 686,000 attendees in 2024, showcasing a remarkable growth in interest and participation in this annual event, as reported by Africazine.

A Global Aviators' Gathering

The magic of AirVenture lies not only in the numbers but in the diversity of its attendees. This year, 2,305 international visitors graced the event, hailing from 94 different nations, including Senegal, marking its inaugural participation. The global representation reflects the event’s stature as a premier aviation gathering, attracting aviation lovers from around the world to share their passion. Although official registrations logged 2,305 attendees, EAA officials suspect many more from abroad did not sign up, hinting at an even greater international presence.

Over 40,000 visitors took advantage of the event’s exceptional camping facilities, pitching tents near more than 15,000 aircraft on site. The festival atmosphere was electrifying, amplified by the collective passion of an expansive network of aviation enthusiasts.

Volunteers: The Heart of AirVenture

A whopping 6,000 volunteers contributed nearly 300,000 hours, making EAA AirVenture a logistical success story. These dedicated individuals worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure a seamless experience for all attendees. In a statement from EAA CEO and Chairman Jack Pelton, he highlighted the significant role volunteers play, crediting them, alongside staff and partners, for raising the bar of what’s possible in the aviation world.

Media coverage was widespread, with 901 press representatives attending from six continents, further amplifying the event’s global footprint. Additionally, a staggering 10,000 aircraft graced Wisconsin’s skies, with Wittman Regional Airport witnessing an impressive 16,246 operations over the course of the event.

An Epic Showcase of Aviation

EAA AirVenture also boasted an impressive lineup of 2,543 aircraft on display, including 995 vintage aircraft, 910 homebuilt models, and even air show performers. These planes were accompanied by a record 962 commercial exhibitors, showcasing the latest innovations and offerings in aviation.

The event was bursting with knowledge, featuring over 1,600 sessions, forums, workshops, and presentations across 65 venues. The EAA Aviation Foundation raised .49 million toward educational programs aimed at increasing participation in aviation.

Pelton concluded with an optimistic tone for the future, stating, “Our theme of ‘One Week — Endless Possibilities’ truly resonated throughout the week. The highlights of this year will pave the way for exciting developments in the realm of flight.”

Looking Ahead

AirVenture will return next year from July 20 to 26, 2026, promising to build on this year’s successes and innovations. With so many ideas pouring in from attendees, volunteers, and partners alike, the anticipation for the next edition is already palpable among aviation enthusiasts.
