In a vibrant gathering at the Sam Nujoma Sports Stadium, the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NAQA) launched its second annual Future Ready Information Session on July 16, 2025. With the theme “Charting Paths to Success and Opportunity,” this exciting three-day event, running from July 16 to 18, is set to empower high school learners with valuable insights into educational pathways and career opportunities.
Co-organized by NAQA, the Khomas Regional Council’s Directorate of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, and the #BeFree Youth Campus, the event is a beacon of hope for young Namibians looking to navigate their futures. It aims to provide credible information about accredited educational opportunities and offer essential career guidance, supporting students as they make pivotal decisions about their lives.
On the first day, over 600 enthusiastic learners filled the venue, from the parking lot to the main tent, ready to engage and network. This year’s event has expanded to welcome Grade 11 learners, promoting inclusivity and broadened access to information. With more than 70 stalls featuring universities, vocational training centers, tertiary education institutions, and corporate entities, students have a unique opportunity to connect with a wealth of resources, empowering them to pursue accredited qualifications.
Edda Bohn, the Deputy Executive Director (DED) of Formal Education and schools, delivered an inspiring keynote address on behalf of Hon. Sanet Steenkamp, Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts & Culture. Her words resonated with the audience, igniting a passion for informed decision-making among the students.
This initiative exemplifies Namibia’s commitment to fostering a brighter future for its youth.
