EZULWINI – A heartwarming initiative is currently underway as a dedicated team of medical professionals from the Amitofo Care Centre (ACC) in Singapore has embarked on a five-day outreach mission to Eswatini. This collaborative effort is hosted at Ezulwini Private Hospital and Mbabane Government Hospital, and it aims to provide much-needed medical treatment to those in the community who might otherwise struggle to access healthcare.
Throughout the outreach period, over 150 patients each day are receiving invaluable care for a variety of medical conditions. The range of treatments on offer is impressive, including oral surgery, orthopedic services, skincare, and complex maxillofacial procedures. This initiative, entirely funded by ACC Singapore, targets individuals and families in need, particularly those facing financial hardships that prevent them from seeking specialized medical assistance.
Jackie Lee, the Vice President of ACC Singapore, expressed the organization’s goal, stating that the outreach is focused on enhancing the lives of those living in challenging conditions. “We believe that everyone should have access to quality healthcare,” Lee said. “Our visit aims to bring hope to patients who might not have had treatment otherwise.”
Dr. Thandeka Khanyile, the CEO of Ezulwini Private Hospital, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of supporting initiatives that widen healthcare access for vulnerable populations. Meanwhile, Dr. Mbuso Dlamini, a Senior Medical Officer at Mbabane Government Hospital, welcomed the collaboration, highlighting how the presence of ACC doctors has enabled them to tackle complex cases that often lead to long waits or referrals.
This outreach marks the ACC’s first visit to Eswatini, though the organization has successfully conducted similar programs in various African nations in the past.
